My Favorite Accounts On Instagram

Instagram has tons of accounts I love but I'm only going to list people that I check on daily. These are mainly fashion bloggers:

1.) Tara Milk Tea
https://www.instagram.com/taramilktea/

Tara Whiteman is an Australian art and design student who is now a blogger full time. Her instagram has a variety of flat-lays, fashion posts, travel, and food photography. Every post is amazingly beautiful so she is definitely my number one!

2.) Xenia Van Der Woodsen
https://www.instagram.com/xeniaoverdose/

Xenia is a German blogger from Hamburg. Her style is amazing and she is often traveling so I can't help but include her instagram on this list.

3.) Chantel Jeffries
https://www.instagram.com/chanteljeffries/

Chantel is an American DJ from Florida. She also has a YouTube channel which is how I found out about her initially. I love her charming personality and good sense of humor.

4.) Alexis Ren
https://www.instagram.com/alexisren/

Alexis is an American model who now has her own athletic brand and she's always traveling the world. She's very down to earth and open with her followers, which I personally respect and find makes her relatable.

5.) Josephine Skriver
https://www.instagram.com/josephineskriver/

She is my favorite Victoria Secret model - her personality is bright and her confidence I find really inspiring.

George Washington's Birthplace

Last summer when we had a British guest and we took them to see George Washington's Birthplace. I never blogged about it and I thought I would share my experience.

George Washington's birthplace is a historic landmark (& national monument) and is taken care of by the National Park Service.

If you want more information visit: http://www.nps.gov/gewa/faqs.htm

The main page describes it as:
"In the heart of the Northern Neck of Virginia stands a tribute to America’s founding father, George Washington. Although only here a short time, the ideas that Washington learned here, helped shape the man he would become and forever alter the destiny of the United States of America."

Not many people have heard of it, because it is a very small place to see. He was born in a very modest house compared to others in the area (like Stratford Hall - I'll be making a blog post on that later!)

These are some of the photos of the information center (brick) and the memorial home (white).

The thing is - this Memorial house is only a replica of the actual house. No one knows for sure what the house actually looked like. The reconstructed house is based off of how most middle-class colonial Virginia planters homes looked like around 1730.

The house might be small - but the view was really nice. This place is secluded and not over-crowded with tourists (like it is at Mount Vernon or Gunston Hall).

Pope's Creek Plantation is about 80 miles from Washington, D.C. and I think if you live in the metropolitan area, it's a great day trip. There is also Westmoreland State Park and Stratford Hall which are only a few minutes away and great places to see as well!

I've also decided to add a song that I've been loving at the end of each of my blog posts. What do you guys think of that? Feel free to leave a comment!

x,

Margaret

iPhone Apps I've Been Loving

I've now officially have my iphone for over a year now... and I thought I might give some suggestions to apps that I use on a daily basis. Hopefully this is helpful to you!
If you have any apps that you are LOVING, feel free to leave me a comment telling me your favorite apps! :)

1.) WhatsApp WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia and yes, those phones can all message each other! Because WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends.
In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.
  • I pretty much love it because you can send audio messages!

2.) Convertbot - A conversion robot for your iPhone and iPod touch. Convert between over 500 units across over 20 categories including currency, time, length, and many more. It’s even smart enough to convert between mixed units like Foot + Inches, Pounds + Ounces, Minutes + Seconds, and more.
  • This app is great for school work or if I'm cooking and need to convert things.
3.) InstagramIt’s a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family. Snap a picture, choose a filter to transform its look and feel, then post to Instagram. Share to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr too – it's as easy as pie. It's photo sharing, reinvented.
  • Everyone's heard of this app... and I can't recommend it enough! It's so much fun to use! :)
4.) PandoraPandora is free, personalized radio that plays music you'll love. Discover new music and enjoy old favorites.
  • You can use this app on your computer or phone! This is the app that I use to find new artists or songs. I definitely recommend having this app on your phone for any music lover!

5.) ShazamUnlimited, lightning-fast tagging. Music - identify songs in as little as 1 second.
  • This is probably my favorite "utility" app on my Phone... whenever I'm driving in the car and I hear a song I really like on the radio but don't know the name, I use this app to find out! It's brilliant. I can't recommend having this app enough! &It's free!

So... I hope you enjoyed my little list! I don't have many apps on my phone... lots of photography editting apps, but mainly just social media and utility type things.
I hope everyone's having a great day!
xx
